The twin-engined Messerschmitt Bf 110 stands somewhat in the
shadow of the glory of other aircraft that took part in the legendary Battle of
Britain. While I am not the first author to present the surprising information
that it was the most successful fighter aircraft of this battle in terms of the
number of victories vs suffered losses, my work with contemporary documents in this
article defines an even higher number of victories achieved by Bf 110 crews
