VC-92 vs. Kamikaze

The first day of Japan's Operation Kikusui, during the American landing on Okinawa, made history as the largest deployment of Kamikaze airmen against Allied vessels. Pilots from the VC-92 unit, flying FM-2 fighter aircraft from the escort carrier USS Petrof Bay, engaged the enemy in aerial combat for the first time, pushing themselves to the limit. První den japonské operace Kikusui během amerického vylodění na Okinawě se do historie zapsal nejrozsáhlejším nasazením letců Kamikaze proti spojeneckým plavidlům. Piloti stíhacích letounů FM-2 jednotky VC-92 z eskortní letadlové lodi USS Petrof Bay se poprvé střetli s nepřítelem v leteckém boji.
