Antoine Marie Jean-Baptiste Roger, the count de Saint Exupéry (1900-1944) is a world-famous pilot and author who was able to fascinate and inspire his contemporaries. His greatest work is recognized to be ‘The Little Prince’, in which, in all probability, he represented himself as a prince and his wife Consuelo as a rose. After his death, which is shrouded in secrecy much like the departure of the Little Prince, he was shunned as an author by some authorities. Despite that, his work found its way into the world by its universal merit and de Saint Exupery stea dily grew into a legend. This year (2014) marks the 70 th anniversary of his disappearance. This article is briefly summarizing what we really know about his disapperance, thanks to rich archives (ignored by some researchers) and also thanks to my correspondence with Mr. Rippert.

Jeho vrcholným dílem se stala novela Malý princ, ve které s největší pravděpodobností zpodobnil sebe jako prince a svou ženu Consuelu jako růži. Po své smrti, která je opředena tajemstvím, stejně jako odchod jeho malého prince, byl jako autor některými autoritami zavrhován. Jeho dílo je však natolik univerzální a působivé, že si našlo cestu ke čtenářům ve většině zemí světa a hrabě de Saint Exupéry se postupně stal legendou. Od jeho zmizení letos (2014) uplynulo 70 let. Tento článek ve stručnosti sumarizuje co opravdu víme o jeho zmizení, díky bohaté zásobě informací v archivech (které někteří spisovatelé ignorují) a a i dáky mé korespondenci s panem Rippertem.
