The Eastern Front during World War II was not typically a
battleground where high-altitude engagements frequently occurred; they were
more of an exception. One such encounter took place between the legendary
German aviator Hannes Trautloft and the crew of a Pe-2 photo reconnaissance
aircraft. In the March 2024 issue of INFO Eduard magazine, I describe the
details and context of this fight.
